Making of a Pen
I woke up this morning to have a pee just after four
When it dawned upon me, I’ve never been this old before
Back in bed I lay there feeling every ache and pain
And again it dawned upon me, I’ll never be this young again
Now I must admit I had squandered my long lost youth
Not being politically correct, occasionally rather uncouth
No longer the lean strong body of the past that I once wore
The muscles have grown soft like the fat that lines my core
But my mind, well it’s still sharp and sees me in another light
It sees me as I once was, strong, handsome, any girls delight
For the years they have not faded my self worth nor my wit
And for what others think of me I really don’t give a shit
